I am a student in the Bachelor's program Media, Kunst, Design en Architectuur (MKDA) at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. This website showcases a selection of papers I have written during my first and second years of study.

My academic interests center on three interconnected areas:

Iconography & Medieval Christian Art
I am fascinated by how religious narratives are visualized and how symbolic traditions evolve across time. My work explores early medieval objects like the Franks Casket, late medieval devotional painting such as Geertgen tot Sint Jans's Tree of Jesse, and the ways in which biblical stories are translated into visual form.

City Culture & Public Space
How do urban environments shape social interaction and belonging? I am interested in the politics of public space, gentrification, and the rights of citizens to exist in the city without consumption. My research on Amsterdam's Beukenplein examines these dynamics through fieldwork and urban theory.

Art & Public Culture
From 19th-century Japonisme to contemporary digital AI propaganda, I study how visual culture operates in the public realm - shaping identity, belief, and political discourse.
